Sorry for the late post!
Our travel day yesterday was busy and by the time we got to our hotel, I wanted to sleep on a pillow instead of a keyboard.
Thank you to all the parents and friends who said "goodbye" to us yesterday morning. We miss you already! (CORRECTION: Students may or may not miss their parents).
Please read this blog post written by Whitney Wheelock and Tori Maish, two of our Seniors on the trip.
"We left early this morning @ 5:30am, we stopped @ a rest-stop in some random place in Wisconsin & had the option to eat Macdons, Subway or get something small for the gas station. The bus ride seemed pretty long, but I had already been to Idaho, so it wasn't terribly brutal. We got to the ferry and it was much bigger than expected. The coach-bus actually came on the boat with us! We spent a long/windy 4 hours on the ferry. It was nice to catch some fresh-air and walk around exploring different area around the boat. There was a movie-theater room, arcade, kids room, small museum and a cafe with sandwiches, pizza and wings. We spent most of my time outside on the open front of the boat. Many of us played music on our portable speaker , it may have been a little loud for some of the elderly trying to "relax", but we needed to make the 4-hour trip a little more bearable! We then headed out on the bus (again) to our final destination, Detroit, we had to stop and get a late dinner. After that, it was time to drop the Annandale kids off @ their hotel and then drive another 30 minutes to our hotel. We checked in & are gonna crash for the night!
Some of you may have seen the pictures of our bus taking a little break. Everything was fine...just a little low on coolant!
Our hotel rooms are nice and cozy!
This morning we all slept in and walked to the GM's global headquarters for some breakfast.
Some of us saw some really cool things. Maybe it was the many sculptures, old buildings, or the beautiful river walk.
Despite all the amazing sights, this was the most interesting thing I saw today.
