We made it to Seafarers, hot, tired and HUNGRY! After dropping our luggage and carry-ons in our room we met with Pastor Marsh for a brief orientation. (FYI... He Who Shall Remain Nameless left his carry-on on our 1st train. 1st miracle of the week... it was still there!)
The group is off in different directions exploring our new neighborhood and looking for food. One group went in search of authentic NY pizza, another in search of a food truck experience, and another for... wait for it... hot dogs. Can you guess who is who?
Perhaps a highlight so far was getting to know at least one of the locals... Gail ... whose accent suggested Jamaica - and since we met her at the Jamaica station, that makes sense! She kept us entertained and considered it her duty to educate us on the REAL motive some choose to become Pastors... "so they can take all your money and drive Mercedes Benz and wear $900.00 suits," So - of course, all eyes were on me... and I proceeded to introduce myself - "Hi Gail, I'm Pastor Janine." The conversation quickly changed to the must see tourist attractions. Okay then.
Keep checking back for blog updates!
Peace!
Pastor Janine
